This is the cedar entryway I just got through with. All of the cedar is local, and was rough cut when I got it. I planed it down, straightened it out, sanded it and then put a tongue oil finish on it. There were so many angles and measurements in this design, but it was really cathartic. There is a peace to be found in a project like this. You can just turn everything over to the math and geometry, and then end up with something beautiful and complex.
It also has strips of pine in between the cedar to make the pattern pop.
